Which London airport is cheapest?
There is no single winner. Stansted and Luton often have the lowest headline fares because they are served by low-cost airlines, but remember to add the cost of getting to the airport and paying for bags. Gatwick has the widest choice of direct flights, and Heathrow can be competitive when British Airways runs a sale. The simplest approach is to search London (all airports), which is what the search box above does with the LON code.
When are flights to Marrakech cheapest?
Fares follow UK school holidays more than the weather in Morocco. As a rule of thumb:
- Usually cheapest: January after New Year, early February outside half-term, late November and early December.
- Mid-range: most of March, May and September, and summer weekdays.
- Most expensive: Easter, the February and October half-terms, Christmas and New Year, and the July and August school holidays.
Marrakech is very hot in July and August, often well above 35 degrees in the afternoon, so spring and autumn give you the best mix of weather and value.
7 ways to pay less
- Fly midweek. Tuesday and Wednesday departures are often cheaper than Friday or Sunday.
- Be flexible by a few days. A price calendar can show a big gap between neighbouring dates.
- Travel hand luggage only. On low-cost airlines a checked bag can cost almost as much as the seat.
- Book early for holidays. For school holidays, aim for three to six months ahead. For quiet months, one to three months ahead is usually fine.
- Compare one-way tickets. Flying out with one airline and back with another is sometimes cheaper.
- Check nearby dates for Ramadan and Eid. Demand from families visiting relatives can push prices up around these dates.
- Set a price alert and book when the fare drops into your budget.

Arriving at Marrakech Menara Airport
The airport is close to the city, usually 15 to 25 minutes by car to the Medina. You can take a taxi (agree the price before you get in), the airport bus that runs to Jemaa el-Fnaa square, or a pre-booked transfer, which many riads can arrange. If you land late at night or your riad is deep inside the Medina, a transfer with a driver who knows the way is worth it.
Do UK travellers need a visa?
British citizens can usually visit Morocco for up to 90 days without a visa. Your passport should be valid for the whole stay, and many travellers keep at least six months of validity to be safe. Entry rules can change, so check the latest advice on GOV.UK before you travel.
Book the rest of your Morocco trip
- Airport transfer: a pre-booked driver waits at arrivals, useful after a late landing because you don’t have to haggle with taxis.
- Morocco eSIM: mobile data from the moment you land, without queuing at a SIM shop.
- Tours and day trips: Atlas Mountains, Agafay desert, cooking classes and more.
- Travel insurance: cover for medical costs and trip cancellation.
